TO THE HEROIC,
PATRIOTIC LEBANESE

(PART 1)
By: Pierre Rafoul
(Translated freely: By Elias Bejjani)

My dear comrades, I am again writing to you because the hysterical media campaign is raging against us and becoming meaner; extremely cruel. My friends, despite the empty fussiness and chaos these mercenaries are creating we will keep looking at them as despicable, with humiliation and disgust.

I am writing to you because all the mercenaries, collaborators, traitors and agents have formed a devious front against our holy struggle. Their satanic quest is strengthening our unity and rendering our patriotic fight for freedom more effective and solid. Things are no more ambiguous and we now know exactly who is on our side and who is against us.

Our confrontation with some prominent clergymen has come into the open. We can't keep quiet any more. We have to address the issue openly with courage and honesty.

Our confrontation is with some clergymen who block their ears so they can't hear the voice of their conscience and the agony of their people. They advocate for the wild wolves in our occupied country and portray them as innocent sheep. These clergymen, who are supposed to be the good shepherds, have abandoned their people, and left them scattered in a bid to protect their own statuses and positions.

Our confrontation is with some clergymen who have encouraged the Lebanese youth to fight and resist the occupation forces and their local servants, which they did with devotion, heroism and enthusiasm. When some of these young heroes became martyrs and enriched the blessed Lebanese soil with their sacred blood the clergymen compromised on their martyrdom. Others, who were injured and became crippled, found themselves abandoned and left without help or recognition, as if they had committed crimes and not offered a patriotic heroic commitment.

Our confrontation is with some clergymen who side with criminals, thieves and collaborators instead of reprimanding, disciplining or boycotting them. They ignore their own oppressed people and turn a blind eye on their needs, pain and hardships.

Our confrontation is with some clergymen who compete with each other in glorifying and cajoling an appointed puppet Lebanese president: A president who is well known in his cowardice and his betrayal to the military oath. A president who when he was an army officer abandoned his military comrades in a bid to solicit a position from the occupier who murdered his colleagues. Our ethical code does not allow us to address the behavioral conduct of this so-called president, but one day, all his immoral acts will be exposed and the mask he is using will fall. This president committed the worst contemporary crime against Free Lebanon on October 13, 1990 when he accepted being a cover for the Syrian invasion of his own country, and to witness silently the massacres inflicted on his own people.

This president (in his capacity, when he was as army commander) shared this crime with the former Lebanese-Syrian appointed president (Elias Hrawi) who threatened to lie down in front of the invading Syrian tanks in case the Syrian leadership decided to withdraw from Lebanon. He wanted the invaders to maintain their occupation of his own country. Another prominent partner in the crime is the ex-tycoon PM (Raffic Hariri) who drowned Lebanon and its people with huge debts (22 billion dollars). Another partner in the crime is the current puppet prime minister, (Dr. Hoss) who granted the invaders a carte-blanche in a bid to spare his own life.

My dear comrades:
Do you remember how the puppets and collaborators glorified Mr. Elias Hrawi and Mr. Raffic Hariri?
They almost made them Saints. Where do they stand now? They have turned against them and are competing with us in harshly criticizing their acts. They changed their stance not because they have realized the truth, but because the Syrian occupier told them to do so, after he has fired the two puppets and many others.
Remember that the fate of Lahoud, Hoss Berri and all other current puppet officials will not be different when the occupier decides to change them and throw them out.

My dear friends:
Let's take the good example of the heroes, who walked before us the path of struggle and martyrdom,
Let us take the example from the heroism of the Vietnamese resistance,
Let us take the example from the South African fighter, Mr. Mandela,
Let the perseverance, resistance and faith of the East Timor people inspire us.

Do not give up the hope, maintain your faith, believe in yourselves and in your ultimate victory. The Lebanese cause is a holy one, although too many Lebanese opportunists, mercenary politicians, leaders and clergymen have betrayed and abused it to serve their own interests. You are the hope and the future for Lebanon and your struggle will be victorious. Great Lebanon by God's will and with your devotion, hard work, honesty, good reputation, and patriotism, will be liberated and will become again an oasis of peace and freedom.

Long Live Free Lebanon
