 (Translated freely: By Elias Bejjani) No, it is not possible that those who were with us during the most critical and dangerous circumstances fighting the occupier are now persecuting patriots. It is not possible, that these comrades are now defending the occupier and its local agents that we fought side by side. It is impossible, that these comrades are now arresting patriotic students who are calling for sovereignty, independence, freedoms and withdrawal of all foreign troops from Lebanon. How can we believe that Lebanon’s security forces, and army troops who vowed to serve Lebanon, defend its sovereignty and dignity, are now assaulting students, persecuting innocent citizens and using their power and resources to keep the occupier in the country. We refuse to believe that the army's slogan; "honor, loyalty, sacrifice" has been abused to infringe on honor, stab patriots in the back, and disregard loyalty. We are definitely convinced that Lebanon’s Army refuses to commit such atrocities, and that those who committed them are a bunch of mercenaries, opportunists and sadists who enjoy humiliation, slavery and have no dignity or self-respect. Dear students, comrades, and our country's future: You are struggling bravely for freedom and change, on behalf of your oppressed people, God bless you all. Your faith is Lebanon's hope for liberation and national dignity, keep on your civilized resistance. In the midst of this ordeal it is a consolation to know that you have become accustomed to the regime's "civilized conduct" of physical and verbal assaults, obscene language and Stalinist inhumane torturing techniques. You are veterans in tolerating pain and torture; you are baring all of this on our behalf. Your pain and bleeding wounds are also ours, we are very proud of you, "Jail is for men " as the popular Lebanese saying goes. You became the regime's number one enemy, after you unveiled its official's treason acts and uncovered their ugly masked faces. They declare your death in their mercenary media facilities, while in reality you are giants rising strongly every day in all Lebanon's universities and in every other arena. In vain they persecute you to force a radical change in your patriotic stances, while you are Lebanon's hope and its people's pride and honor. They endeavor to divide you into factions, while you laugh at their stupidity and become stronger and more united. They keep pressuring you to join their collaborating ranks. They resort to intimidation, bribery and forging of treason charges, while you stand tall like Lebanon's cedars humiliating them more and more. They are naive and stupid to forget that you are Lebanon's sons who survived all conspiracies and defeated its perpetrators. They ignore the fact that you face death with no fear, and that you come from a national academy that carries the torch of heroism, martyrdom, honor and pride. Our beloved comrades: You are fanatic freedom lovers and dignity admirers, You are real men who never surrender to an enemy, or knell for an occupier, You are Lebanon's heroes. We are definitely confident that your struggle and resistance will be Lebanon's salvation cross. With you, Lebanon will be liberated and reclaim its confiscated independence, to become again an oasis for freedom and an asylum for the persecuted. At the end of each tunnel there is light, you are Lebanon light. You are Lebanon's dawn that every body is waiting for.
