 It is well-recognized behavior for mercenary politicians, clergymen, journalists and dignitaries to cajole and appease those in power and authority. Under normal circumstances they are considered generally a minority and their behaviour is believed to stem from either the pursuit of gain or from fear. Meanwhile, in countries that are under mere occupation like Lebanon at the present time, these mercenaries become an apparent phenomenon and take control of the media. They practically prostitute and manipulate every good thing, and make the honest, patriotic, decent citizens who refuse to accept the occupation look odd and as if coming from another planet. In this context it seems that the majority of our Diaspora are either intentionally or due to ignorance, blacking out on the fact that Lebanon is an occupied country and that all of its officials are Syrian puppets. They seem also to ignore the fact that these imposed officials serve Syrian interests and have nothing to do with the hopes, pains and aspirations of the majority of the Lebanese people. The people of Lebanon are praying and longing for the day when their country would be liberated from all foreign troops: Israelis, Syrians and others. They are yearning for the day when they would be able to freely elect their officials and see their human rights respected. In this realm we feel obliged to make the Lebanese Diaspora fully aware of the vicious mockeries that the Lebanese-Syrian appointed regime and its agents are trying feverishly to spread among them: 1- They are using all the dirty tricks in the book to put the Diaspora communities under the false impression that there were winners and losers in the 17 year-war on Lebanon, and that the winner must rule while the loser is ousted. 2- They are dividing the Lebanese into two groups: one pro-Syria and one pro-Israel. All those not blindly supporting the Syrian occupation are pro-Israeli and traitors. 3- They are using double standards in relation to Lebanese detainees outside Lebanon. Their focus is only on the 140 detainees in South Lebanon and Israel. They are ignoring completely the hundreds of innocent citizens held arbitrarily for political and religious reason in the notorious Nazi-like Syrian jails. 4- They are portraying all the patriotic Lebanese who are proud of their heritage, 6000 years of deep rooted history, culture and distinguished identity as dreamers and non-pragmatic and as a people unable to cope with reality. 5- They are advocating for the continued Syrian occupation of Lebanon, portraying the South Lebanon residents as being responsible for the Israeli occupation of their land and tagging them as traitors. The following solid facts refute all the above lies and unveil Gobblets tactics: 1- The 17-year war of others on Lebanon and its people, falsely termed the "Lebanese Civil War", made every and each Lebanese a loser, although some individuals and factions are deluding themselves otherwise. As a result, Lebanon is currently an occupied country, its regime is a puppet one, its parliament and cabinet (as well as the majority of its officials) are all appointed by Syria, freedoms are oppressed and human rights are infringed upon. 2- The majority of the Lebanese are not pro-Syria or pro-Israel. They are all pro-Lebanon and only Lebanon. The traitor and collaborator are the ones who side with either Syria or Israel on the account of Lebanon's sovereignty and its people's interests. 3- Any person or group using double standards with the Lebanese detainees' issue loses all credibility. The regime and its agents are focusing only on the Lebanese detained in South Lebanon and Israel. They are turning a blind eye on hundreds of innocent women, men and clergymen detained in Syrian jails for as long as 18 years without any kind of trial or even Syrian admittance of their whereabouts. These facts are documented extensively by tens of International Human Rights organizations e.g., the USA State Department, the Red Cross and many others. 4- The mercenaries who deny Lebanon's 6000 years history and civilization, fight the 10452 km square concept of Lebanon, never felt any belonging to the distinguishable Lebanese identity and who continuously side with other countries against Lebanon should learn from history. They ought to remember that hundreds of invaders, tyrants and dictators all through the last 6000 years, have occupied Lebanon and thought falsely that they had eradicated nationalism from the hearts and minds of its great people. They ultimate were defeated by the Lebanese people, giving them no choice but to evacuate Lebanon with shame and disgrace. The carved stones of the Naher Al-Khaleb Memorial are a living example of the endurance, faith, courage and patriotism of the Lebanese people. We can assure all the collaborators that the fate of the current occupiers is not going to be different by any means from those who came before them…Lebanon always emerges victorious. 5- Let all those who want to be righteous, stop judging and tagging Southern Lebanon's residents as Israeli traitors and collaborators. Let all of them know that our people in Beint Jbeil, Marjeaown, Hasbaia, Ain Ebbel or Shabaa are not responsible for Israel's occupation of their land. Syria, the Palestinians, the majority of the current regime officials and many regional countries were, and are still the actual perpetrators of the current occupational status imposed on South Lebanon. The Southern Lebanese people are the victims of all the conspiracies that lead to the Israeli occupation of their land. The Southern Lebanese citizens are heroes: they decided not to emigrate and abandon their land. They remained in their land despite the numerous hardships and endured all kinds of pain and humiliation. Their main focus was and is still, on means that help them protect their land, their people and their holy affiliation to Lebanon. They are real heroes, they resisted all kinds of temptation and intimidation, and decided to remain forever Lebanese in heart, mind and soul. In this context they refused to leave their towns and villages when the Lebanese regimes abandoned them in 1985, and refused to leave also in 1999 when the South Lebanon Army withdraw from the Jezzine region. The southern Lebanese people are pro-Lebanon and not pro any other force or country in the world. They love their land, protect it and adamantly want to be embraced by its soil when they die. Those who are righteous, honest and attentive, Those who have conscience and free minds, Those with good judgement and sharp vision, Those who can differentiate between occupation and alliance, Those who are courageous to witness for the truth, Those who believe in Lebanon the 10452 km square We call on all of the above and every patriotic Lebanese, and even on collaborators who are siding with the Syrian occupier against their own people and their own country, we call on all of these to stop making haphazard, biased judgments against the Southern residents. We ask them to fear Almighty God in their fabricated lies. The Southern residents including the majority of the South Lebanon Army soldiers are heroes and patriotic Lebanese and not traitors. A traitor is an individual who sides willingly with a foreigner against his own country and his own people. Most of these are not in South Lebanon, but in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon, they are the officials from the top to the bottom. It is wise for every Lebanese, especially the liars and the collaborators, to remember what Imam Ali Ben Abi Taaleb said about those who lie: "The dead and the living are equal, but the virtue of the living versus that of the dead is that he could be trusted.
