THE INDEPENDENCE

Since 1990, we have been accustomed by the "Taef authorities" to witness every year a camouflaged mockery celebration on the "Independence Day". This imposed illegitimate authority exaggerates in celebrating the day, while because of its mercenary reign the event has lost its joy and meaning. The event has become in people's eyes a lost anthem and hope. Meanwhile in the eyes of the officials it has become an occasion to stress the state's existence. On the occasion officials attempt to convince citizens in what is contradicting to reality. They try to convince them security is stable and living conditions are normal and every thing else in the country is perfect.

Slogans, speeches, poems, fake appearance and prestige is all what the imposed regime cares about on the Independence Day. Accordingly the Beirut regime officials initiate frenetic, camouflage and deceiving preparations to make the "DAY" reflect their own collaboration, cajoling, flattering and slavery behavior.

The Beirut regime is an odd one in a global era characterized by flourishing of freedoms, openness, democracy, respect for human rights and an end to most of the dictatorships regimes. The Beirut regime is one of few left at the present time living in darkness and awkwardness.

The Beirut officials are celebrating the "Independence Day" while their country is occupied and deprived of its freedom, sovereignty and free decision making process. They pose and brag to justify their appointment by Syria's dictator. They allege there is no 100% sovereignty in the world and no mere independence for a country without restrictions, conditions and certain imposed criteria.

These puppets intentionally ignore the following facts:
1- Freedom is one of the most basic components of sovereignty and independence,
2- Respect of laws and international human rights covenants are vital pillars in securing independence,
3- Honoring principles of justice, equality and human rights is Independence itself,
4- Independence can't be mortgaged and can't be shared by foreign powers,
5- Independence is a right for citizens and a duty for each authority and regime.
6- Independence can't be celebrated in mellitus of slavery, subservience and awkwardness,
7- Independence can't be celebrated in milieus of ignorance, naivetes, negligence of international laws, covenants and human rights.

How could Beirut's puppet regime celebrate "Independence Day", while it commits all kinds of atrocities including:
1- Oppressing freedoms,
2- Muffling free expression rights,
3- Preventing people from practicing their right in free choices,
4- Applying double standards in dealing with citizens
5- Allowing the judiciary to be politicize, biased and governed by foreign custody and mockeries,
6- Practicing favoritism and biased criteria in national consensus,
7- Giving priority to neighboring Syria over Lebanon's national and public interests,
8- Executing persecution, imprisonment, intimidation and humiliation against patriots, 9- Protecting a mercenary media that serves the occupier and his vicious schemes
10- Hindering all people's efforts for liberation and liberty.

It is the utmost arrogance to beat the drums and place memorial wreaths at the feet of our monuments for the dead and martyrs just to shore up the façade while destroying the substance of the occasion.

Lebanon's Independence was made a reality through our fathers' and grandfathers' sacrifices martyrdom, struggle and hard work all through 6000 years of history. The people of Lebanon deserved their country's independence and it was recognized by the whole world. You Beirut installed puppet officials, all your schemes to abort independence will be fought courageously and the ultimate victory will be to Lebanon and its great people.

Long Live Free Lebanon
